Loctite 8040 je mineralno olje jantarne barve, ki hitro odstranjuje rjo na način nenadne zamrznitve. S takšnim postopkom zamrzovanja omogoča sproščanje korodiranih ali sprejetih delov. V rjo prodira s tako imenovanim kapilarnim učinkom. Z mazanjem razdvoji oksidirane ali zapečene strojne dele ter ščiti sproščene dele pred korozijo.
