Metalworking lubricants

Processing fluids are essential for lubrication, cooling and removal of excess particles during the processing of different types of metals. In addition to their basic functions, they must also provide corrosion protection, low foaming, stability and high temperature ignition, especially at high speeds and high temperatures during machining.

In metal working, pure dedicated modified oils, oil blends or dedicated emulsions (mixing of water and lubricant) can be used. The correct choice of machining fluid depends on the machining method, the type of workpiece and the working conditions. In low-speed machining applications, high lubricating capacity is essential, while in high-speed machining, high cooling capacity is essential.

Welding agents in the form of liquids, pastes and sprays are available for efficient and reliable welding. Penetrating oils have excellent penetration properties for oxidised bolted joints and mechanical components. Metalworking emulsions are designed for general purpose use, cutting, drilling, turning, milling, grinding, chamfering, deep drilling, tapping and threading, etc. Additives to emulsions improve the stability, lubricity and cooling of emulsions. Cutting agents allow precise and efficient cutting, milling, grinding and drilling of metallic materials. Reforming oils facilitate metalworking operations.

Quenching oils increase the strength of metal parts through the quenching process. Punching oils facilitate the punching process of metal parts (steel, aluminium, copper and brass). Fluids for plunge erosion are used in the specialised treatment of metallic materials.
