Pneumatic cylinders are used to convert the energy of compressed air into mechanical motion. They are key components of pneumatic systems, widely used in industry due to their simple design, reliability and fast response. Their main function is to generate linear motion which can be used to move a variety of mechanical loads.

Depending on the operation, there is a distinction between single-acting and double-acting cylinders. Single-acting cylinders have a single working chamber, which means that they move with the aid of air in one direction only, while the movement in the other direction is provided by a spring. Double acting cylinders have two working chambers which allow movement in both directions.

There are different cylinder shapes and designs. From round cylinders according to ISO 6432, compact cylinders according to ISO21287, short stroke cylinders, to special designs without a piston rod where the piston movement is used. We have several options for the attachment of pneumatic cylinders. From simple nut fixing (for round cylinders), to various brackets that can be fitted to the cylinder. The piston rod can be threaded only, or it can be threaded forks and eye bearings.

Pneumatic cylinders are widely used in industrial systems because of their simple design, reliability, fast response and ability to generate high forces.
