Clamping rings are machine elements that greatly facilitate the joints between shafts and other drive components such as pulleys, sprockets, gears, etc. Clamping rings replace joints known in mechanical engineering as clamping joints. It is a solid joint between a shaft and another component, which can be disassembled. Clamping rings consist of two or more rings with a taper around the circumference. The cones face each other like a wedge and open the rings. As the rings are tightened, they are increasingly stretched and press against the bore and shaft wall. This generates high friction, which allows the transmission of torque and axial forces. Retaining rings are used to attach pulleys, sprockets, gears and other elements to transmit rotational motion to shafts and axles. The coupling shall be disassembled and its strength shall be sufficient to transmit the torque. The clamping rings may also be self-centring. In various versions, the clamping ring achieves the necessary torsional force by means of a conical shape. In practice, clamping rings are also known as clamping bushes or RCK bushes.
Clamping rings are characterised by a fast and reliable connection between the two components to be joined. The joint is disassembled. They can slip under high loads to protect the actuator.
Our product range consists of tensioning rings, Taper Lock bushings and Taper Lock bushing hubs.
