Shaft couplings and clutches are an indispensable element of any drive. They are used where we want to dampen the jolts and slight misalignments of the shaft. They are an alternative to rigid links and cardan shafts. Clutches are made of aluminium or plastic for lower power outputs and of cast iron or steel for higher power outputs. Elastic couplings are good at absorbing shock and compensating for misalignment. Hydraulic and electromagnetic clutches transmit torque gradually until the driven shaft reaches the speed of the drive shaft. Safety clutches protect machinery and plant from overloads or sudden jolts.

We offer a wide range of shaft couplings in a variety of materials and sizes, e.g. slipper couplings, clamp shaft couplings, rubber shaft couplings, gear shaft couplings, chain couplings, universal couplings.

From our stock you can choose between double-ended (muff) shaft couplings, which have a plastic collar and allow for slight variations in alignment, or double-ended shaft couplings with a rubber intermediate link, which are good shock absorbers. Non-elastic levelling shaft links, the Parkland shaft link compensates for shaft movements in the axial direction, the cogged shaft link compensates for shaft movements in the axial direction and angular movements of up to 2˚, and the universal joint compensates for shaft angular movements of up to 15˚ and 30˚, respectively. Elastic balancing shaft links transmit torque through elastic connecting elements that can compensate for shaft movements and twists.
