Pressure gauges, also known as manometers, are instruments designed to measure the pressure in a gas or liquid. Pressure gauges are distinguished by the location of the connection (bottom or rear), the diameter of the gauge, the pressure measurement range, the filling - they can be dry or filled with a liquid, most commonly glycerine (the function of the liquid in the gauge is to reduce the fluctuation of the pointer when pressure measurements are made). Pressure gauges are used in a variety of industrial, laboratory and domestic applications to monitor and control pressure in different systems.

There are several types of manometers, such as analogue pressure gauges, which are classical pressure gauges with a moving dial or pointer. These can be mechanical or hydraulic. Digital pressure gauges have a digital display instead of the conventional pointers, which shows the exact pressure values. Differential pressure gauges, measure the pressure difference between two points in the system and are useful in monitoring flow or blockages. Vacuum manometers are designed to measure pressure below atmospheric pressure, such as in vacuum systems. Absolute manometers, on the other hand, measure pressure relative to total vacuum.

The installation of pressure gauges depends on the type of gauge and the specific requirements of the application. Some common mounting methods include threaded mounting, where threaded manometers can be screwed directly into a pipe or pipeline. Pressure gauges may be attached to a flange on a pipeline or vessel and mounted to a wall or other surface using a bracket. They can be integrated into control panels.

The mounting methods depend on the environment and the type of application and ensure a stable and reliable fixing for accurate pressure measurement.
